Who is it for?

As the name implies, we created the Product Hub specifically for product teams that want to keep stakeholders informed—think sales and marketing teams, executives, customer success, or even external customers. Presenting a product roadmap once a quarter is a antiquated way of working. Things are constantly changing and teams need to move fast, which requires a much tighter collaboration loop with stakeholders. That’s what the Product Hub creates.

How does it work?

The Product Hub consists of one or many portals, each representing a product, team, project, or specific communication channel like “Customer updates”.

Each portal features a Changelog for sharing updates and a Roadmap for outlining future plans.

Product teams can easily publish new changelog updates, automatically generated from existing Jira tickets using AI. They can also publish roadmap changes with a single click, all within Jira and always in sync.

You can access your Product Hub under your_subdomain.releasedhub.com, where your_subdomain is the same subdomain as your Jira instance. Support for custom domains is coming soon!

Access control

Portals now come with access controls to ensure that both confidential and publicly available information is managed and shared effectively. We’re introducing three distinct levels of access to meet different user needs, giving administrators comprehensive control while providing seamless access for users.

Public

Public portals are designed for open access, allowing anyone to view them without needing to log in. This makes it easy to share product updates and roadmaps with customers.

Restricted

This level offers domain-specific or individual email access, allowing select external or internal users to access the portal while keeping information hidden from the general public. It requires authentication to ensure only authorized users can view restricted information.

Internal (Coming Soon)

This level is limited to users with an email domain that matches your organization’s domain–configured by a Released administrator. Internal portals also require authentication.

Sign in via Atlassian, Google or magic link

To make authentication as seamless as possible, Released offers three flexible sign-in options:

Atlassian

Ideal for teams already using Jira or other Atlassian products, this option allows users to sign in with their Atlassian account.

Google

A convenient choice for those using Google Workspace or Gmail, this option lets users sign in quickly with their Google credentials.

Email – Magic Link

For users who prefer a password-free experience, the magic link option allows sign-in via email. Simply enter your email address, and a one-time login link is sent directly to your inbox.

Customize your portal to match your brand. Released offers two distinct themes for your Product Hub and portals.

Sydney

A modern side-by-side layout featuring a continuous changelog timeline and a vertical roadmap layout.

Changes to your experience

As part of this release, we made a couple of major changes to the existing experience.

Access controls have moved

The access controls for the workspace have moved from the General settings to the Access settings, where they now live along the new Portal access settings.

Links now open in the portal

Previously, links to posts and the roadmap opened the associated Jira project with an embedded portal. Now, with the Product Hub live, most links point directly to it as the central destination. For portals that require authentication, users are logged in automatically coming from Jira.

Since the portal is now the canonical destination for all links, new posts are always published to the portal.

Publishing changes

We used to treat the embedded page and widget as separate channels, letting users publish to each one individually. With the introduction of the portal, we’re streamlining everything into a single channel. Now, publishing to the portal automatically pushes the post to the embedded page and widget as well. Think of them as extensions of the portal, showing the same updates wherever they’re embedded.

This update includes 200+ bug fixes and improvements, making every aspect of Released a whole lot better.
